Lectins: The Poisions We Eat Happily Every Day

How Most Diseases Are In Our Diet, NOT Our Genes!

Adapted & Edited By: The NutriDocs Team

Do you ever wonder why as we get older, we get sicker?  Did you know that you have been consuming poison every day, since the moment you were born? This poison is known as lectins. Lectin is a type of protein and well, not all proteins are good for us - breaking news, I know!

How Do Lectins Cause Diseases?

Lectins are good at causing damage to our body slowly. It paralyzes us so that animals in the wild eat us and we die. Over time, we have however adapted and evolved to the harshness of lectins so that they don’t affect us immediately; but after a few years of eating them, we pay the price. How?

Imagine this.

You are the manager of a company. The company gets sold and you’re replaced with new management. The new management is bad with the company finances and spends all the company money quickly. Within a few months, the company is struggling financially and they file for bankruptcy.

Imagine that you (the original manager) were insulin. But the new management (a bad lectin called WGA which is found in wheat) replaced and stole your spot. Now WGA likes to sit on our cells, where insulin is supposed to sit. Because the WGA stole the insulin’s spot, the insulin can no longer help our cells to manage the blood glucose (sugar in our body from any of the foods we eat). Over time, the mismanagement of the blood glucose due to insulin not being able to do its job leads to “bankruptcy of our body” - also known as diabetes. Another lectin (MBL) is known for working with WGA to take diabetes into diabetic neuropathy!

This same WGA also punches holes in our gut (intestines) and gets into our blood. It starts traveling throughout our body and eats away at our cartilage between our bones. Cartilage protects our bones from rubbing against each other so when the lectins eat away at it, the bones rub against each other causing pain in our body and that is how we develop arthritis! These lectins can travel to the heart causing heart attacks, travel to the liver and cause fatty liver, and even is responsible for cancers, cysts, fibroids, etc.

Is this new information? Well, the research on lectins has been around for years and most of us don’t know about it unfortunately. But now that you know, you can make changes in the way you eat so that you can prevent diseases

If you already have a disease, it's not too late. You can reverse it!

Staying Away From Dangerous Lectins

What to Eat & What NOT to Eat!

Adapted & Edited By: The NutriDocs Team

What to Eat: Asthma-Friendly Foods

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables:

Opt for low-lectin options like leafy greens, apples, pears, and berries. These are packed with essential vitamins and minerals while gentle on your respiratory system.

Lean Protein:

Include high-quality sources like fish and pasture-raised poultry in your diet. These provide vital nutrients without exacerbating asthma symptoms.

Healthy Fats

Incorporate omega-3-rich foods such as walnuts, flaxseeds, and avocados into your meals. These fats possess anti-inflammatory properties, potentially aiding in asthma management.

Whole Grains

Choose lectin-free various types of millet. These grains are lower in lectins and can be a nutritious addition to your diet. While not all millets are lectin-free, sorghum, finger millet, pearl millet, and few more are good.

Fun fact: Millets are not grains, they are seeds!

What to Avoid: High-Lectin Foods

Legumes

While legumes are a great source of protein, they are also high in lectins. Consider reducing or eliminating beans, lentils, and peanuts from your diet.

Nightshade Vegetables

Tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, and eggplants fall under this category. Though undeniably delicious, they can trigger inflammation in some individuals.

Lectin Heavy Grains:

Wheat, barley, oats, brown rice,  rye are such examples of heavy lectin grains. These should be avoided to prevent further diseases and with the NutriDocs Wellness Program, you can reverse existing lifestyle diseases as well.

Dairy Products

Although not lectin-rich, dairy has been associated with increased mucus production and can exacerbate asthma symptoms in some individuals. Consider limiting or eliminating dairy from your diet.

The Dangers of Lectins

Allies of Plants, Enemies of Humans AND The Bringer of Diseases!

Adapted & Edited By: The NutriDocs Team

What Are Lectins and Why are they bad for you?

Lectins are naturally occurring proteins found in many plant-based foods. Here's the catch: NOT ALL PROTEINS ARE GOOD FOR YOU! Lectins serve as a defence mechanism for plants and can trigger various health issues in certain individuals. Lectins tend to trigger inflammation and cause many lifestyle diseases including but not limited to diabetes, cancer, arthiritis, fertility issues, and autoimmune disorders to name a few. By adopting a lectin-free diet, we can work towards being disease free by reversing existing diseases and preventing future ones

Mythbuster

MOST DISEASES ARE NOT GENETIC!

Many people think that these lifestyle diseases are genetic. However, because we tend to have similar or same diets as our family members which have the same lectins, we adopt their diseases by simply having the same dietary habits!

Utilize the NutriDocs Wellness Program to reverse your disease or prevent future ones!

Why We Get Diseases From Lectins...Eventually!

How Lectins Destroy Our Gut (Intestinal Health) Slowly Over Time

Adapted & Edited By: The NutriDocs Team

The human body contains a gut (intestinal) lining which contains a microbiome (bacteria inside our gut).

Human-microbiome interaction is crucial to human health and if that is disturbed, it is quite likely to cause

diseases! From simpler things like consumption of antibiotics to lectins which have slow but long term negavite impacts, our gut bacteria or microbiome is sensetive and susceptible to such invaders.

Only a handful of the numerous processes by which the microbiota impacts its human

host have been thoroughly studied. Although it is well known that some dietary lectins can

negatively impact all living organisms including humans’ health and growth, lectins are also

linked to digestive system nutritional issues.

Human lectins regulate the microbiota among their many other harmful effects on many cell types. Thousands of lectin genes have been discovered via the study of the genomes human bacteria. These genes are widely dispersed across the human microbiome and are present in virtually all human-associated bacterial genomes. A specific lecctin known as the Cbeg5 lectin may be a component responsible for host-microbial interactions caused by lectins. Damage of lectins can be in various ways, given the enormous number of undiscovered and varied lectin genes expressed by the human microbiota.

Taken together, gut bacteria has the capacity to develop resistance to the incoming lectin overload via food intake!

This resistance pattern changes good bacterial colonies into bad ones and allows the absorption of excess lectins to the blood stream and causes their negative impact on human health.

How Meditation and EFT Help Improve Your Health and Life?

Simple Things to Make Massive Change in Your Health and Life!

Adapted & Edited By: The NutriDocs Team

Key Words: Sugar, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Mediation, ADHD, Mental Health

Stress is an integral part of all life forms on Earth. It is this stress that made us run and protect ourselves when we encountered a dangerous animal in the wild. However even after humans became civilized/evolved the animals disappeared but the stress response stayed. Stress is important, in the optimal amount it helps us focus and when it becomes too much it affects our mental health. Imagine not having any stress during exams. Would you study? …NO. This stress is useful, as it’s a driving force!  But in other situations when you face insults, heartbreak, grief, and disappointment and you don’t do anything about it, it becomes harmful. This type of stress causes depression/demotivation/illness.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a method that helps manage emotional and troubling thoughts without getting affected by them.  Tapping for 30 sec to 1.5 min on acupuncture points can help you calm down and get back in action. Yup, it’s that fast and effective. Meditation helps one to tune into the Zero Point Field, where the sense of body and mind is lost ……… Zero. This is a state where one is detached from the effects of the mind and body, being in the present moment and thus able to be calm and take action optimally when and as needed.

Did you know eating nutritionally dense food promotes the growth of “good” bacteria, which in turn positively affects the production of chemicals/ messengers? Your brain receives these positive messages loud and clear, and your mental state can reflect it. Consuming fast food, sugar, and soft drinks is associated with a higher prevalence of diagnosed attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Remember the food you have has an effect on your mind and the mind affects the choice of food. Sugar is the largest substance abused, more than alcohol.

We are very mindful when choosing what we watch on social media then why not about daily eating habits and lifestyle?

Does Something Inside You Decide For YOU?

Adapted & Edited By: The NutriDocs Team

A human being is not one individual but a collective symbiosis of many organisms, bacteria, virus, fungus etc. living together in one body that we call “ME”. Human beings have three times as many non-human cells on them when compared to the number of human cells. You are not just your body and mind. You are what you eat and also what you feed.

Below are cases who were given an eight day course.

1) Two ladies of 20 and 35 yrs. of age had very bad teeth with multiple cavities. Both would have some sweet daily after having an entire meal. Why even with a full stomach did they crave sugar? The craving was so much that they would have sugar if nothing else was available. After the 8 day course they don’t even look at any sweets.

2) A 45 yrs old gentleman lost 6 kgs weight, a 22 yrs old lady lost 3 kgs weight and an 18 yr. lost 1 kg weight .None of them had too many sweets.

3) A 42 yrs old lady mother of 2 handsome 18 yrs. and 23 yrs. old boys said she is able to stay calm and does not fight with her children any more.

4) A single mother of a special child aged 13 yrs said she is fed up with her kid’s violent behavior, foul language and complains from school that he is not completing his homework. After the course she said he is calmer, able to focus, completing his studies, well behaved and no more eating sweets.

What was given to all these people for 8 days? .... Dr Gants Deworming course.

Parasites just like bacteria ,fungus , viruses in your body have an adverse effect on your body and mind. If you are not able to make healthy choices it’s because you are unaware which foods are actually good for you and the growing bad inmates in your body are making you make the bad choice.

Do We Need Milk Proteins?

Adapted & Edited By: The NutriDocs Team

A 3-year-old child visited my clinic. Her father told me that she was hospitalized for 4 days. Her face was swollen and she was in a lot of pain. The doctor told him she was out of danger (Ludwig’s Angina a life-threatening condition) and advised her to take her to the dentist. The cause of the swelling was an infected tooth. After examining her I saw that most of her teeth were broken and black.

The child was already scared because of being hospitalized. After the physician's consent, we resorted to conscious sedation, where she would be awake but sleepy and thus cooperative. A root canal treatment was done over 4 days and she was feeling better.

Parents don’t give chocolates to 3-year-old kids because of the risk of them swallowing and choking on them. We were wondering how could a well-fed child have so many cavities so soon. The answer was MILK. Once we stopped dairy products, further damage was significantly slowed down.

We usually hear that milk and milk products should be consumed daily by everyone for protein, calcium, and good healthy bones. However, human is the only animal who has the milk of another animal. Milk contains lactose, a sugar. Bacteria such as Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacilli in the mouth are acid-producing and they feed on all sugars, including lactose leading to cavities.

Milk and its products also contain various lectins. Lectins make holes in our gut making it leak leading to several health issues. Milk is the primary cause of Type 1 Diabetes.

Even though humans have become the most advanced species on the earth, they are still dependent on their environment, their internal and external environment for their survival.

We get ample proteins from plants so it’s best to stop having milk and milk products (except ghee and butter) rather than having a life-threatening situation to deal with for months

Can Negative Emotions Make You Ill?

How medications aren't sometimes sufficient.

Adapted & Edited By: The NutriDocs Team

Case 1
A friend called one day and said her body was itching and it had become uncontrollable for 4 days. When asked what could be the root cause, she said she had this problem after a viral infection 3 months ago but now it has worsened. The reason why it worsened was because her mother had passed away 4 days ago.

Case 2
Our family driver visited me for his daughter's treatment. He was not able to sit for too long because of a backache for the past 22 years. He had already tried every possible remedy including visiting reputed hospitals, orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and even “lape wala baba” but didn't get any relief. When asked if he remembers anything significant that happened 22 years ago, he shared that he lost his father when he was 19 years old and the backache had started a few years after that.

Case 3
A 60-year-old lady was advised knee replacement for her arthritis. She had even taken a couple of steroid injections in her knee but the pain would not let her even do her daily work. Her history took a bit long as her pain was 18 years old and she was reluctant to share personal information. After realizing that she had no choice she shared that her 75yr old husband had been having multiple affairs from very early days of their marriage and that she was fed up with life.

All 3 cases were treated with the same medicine and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). What was the common thread between them though all had different symptoms? How did the same medicine work for all?

The point that was common in all the cases was they all experienced "grief" because of the "loss of a loved one".

You may have experienced sometimes that when your body is healthy, but if you feel low your productivity reduces. This is because of the release of stress hormones (adrenaline, cortisol).

Sometimes past trauma is a major contributor to serious psychological disorders. Severe traumatic experiences may dramatically change a person’s attitude toward life. In these cases, he/she has to face the situation. It is normal to want to avoid thinking about a traumatic event. Be patient. Do your best to eat nutritious meals, get regular physical activity, and associate with positive/uplifting people.

Taking the right kind of diet and exercise for your body and practicing methods like meditation, EFT, and catharsis for your emotional well-being is also important.

We at NutriDocs believe that prevention is better than cure.

Say Goodbye to Osteoarthritis

The Power of a Lectin-Free Diet In Becoming Arthritis-Free

Adapted & Edited By: The NutriDocs Team

Revolutionary Approach: Say Goodbye to Osteoarthritis with the Lectin-Free Diet!

Are you tired of living with the constant pain, stiffness and discomfort caused by osteoarthritis? Do you dream of finding a natural solution that can help you regain control of your life? Did you know that going lectin-free might be the key to relieving osteoarthritis pain?

Say bye-bye to those achy joints with the lectin-free diet!

Understanding Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease characterized by the breakdown of cartilage, causing stiffness, pain, and swelling in the affected joints. While there is no traditional cure for osteoarthritis, adopting a healthy lifestyle, including diet modifications, can play a significant role in stopping further arthritic damage and potentially reverse arthitis. How? Well, stop lectins from causing damage to your cartilage!

The Connection Between Lectins and Osteoarthritis

Lectins are a type of protein found in many plant-based foods, such as grains, legumes, and nightshade vegetables. Lectins can attack and eat away at cartilage, leaving the area wounded and susceptible to bad bacteria entering and causing inflammation in that area. Thus joint pain in individuals start showing up and develops to the condition of osteoarthritis.

The Osteoarthritis and Lectin-Free Diet Approach

The Lectin-Free Diet is centered around consuming whole, nutrient-dense foods while avoiding specific lectin-rich foods that may exacerbate inflammation and joint discomfort. By eliminating these potential triggers, individuals may experience reduced pain, improved joint function, and enhanced overall well-being.

Benefits of the Osteoarthritis and Lectin-Free Diet

1. Reduced Inflammation: By avoiding lectin-rich foods, you can potentially lower inflammation levels in your body, reducing joint pain and swelling.

2. Enhanced Nutrient Intake: Emphasizing whole foods, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats, ensures you receive a wide range of essential nutrients that support joint health and overall well-being.

3. Weight Management: Maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for managing osteoarthritis. The Osteoarthritis and Lectin-Free Diet encourages wholesome, nutrient-dense foods, which can contribute to weight loss or maintenance goals.

4. Increased Energy Levels: A nutrient-rich diet can boost energy levels, allowing you to engage in physical activities that support joint mobility and flexibility.

Incorporating the Osteoarthritis and Lectin-Free Diet into Your Life

1. Focus on Whole Foods: Fill your plate with a variety of lectin free fruits, vegetables, properly fed and sourced lectin-free lean proteins, and healthy fats.

2. Avoid Lectin-Rich Foods: Some common lectin-rich foods to avoid include grains, legumes, and nightshade vegetables.

3. Prioritize Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Incorporate omega-3 fatty acids in a significant and appropriate quantity into your diet to heal your gut and maintain it due to existing lectin damage.

4. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your joints lubricated and aid in the removal of toxins from your body.

5. Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how your body reacts to different foods. Every individual is unique, and it's essential to identify any specific triggers that may worsen your osteoarthritis symptoms.

Take Home Message

The Lectin-Free Diet is a potential chance to reverse osteoarthritis. It offers a natural, holistic approach to managing the symptoms and improving overall joint health as well. By adopting this dietary approach and making informed food choices, you can take a proactive step towards reducing inflammation, relieving pain, and enhancing your quality of life by ridding yourself of your arthritic condition. Consult with a healthcare professional through the NutriDocs Wellness Program to know more about how you can do this for yourself!

If you know someone who may benefit from this information, please feel free to share this post with them and about NutriDocs so that together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of those living with osteoarthritis!

Why is it necessary to get a dental checkup every 6 months?

Adapted & Edited By: The NutriDocs Team

Your mouth is the gateway to your body. A dentist is very often the first person to make a diagnosis of other health issues in your body by conducting an oral examination.

Case 1

A female patient of 68 years of age came for tooth extraction. After pulling out her teeth her wounds closed but did not heal satisfactorily. The section was still soft so a denture could not be made. She was advised to get a check-up done by an orthopedic. She came back and informed me that her calcium levels were very low.

Case 2

A 72 yrs patient who had no teeth and was using a denture from the past 5 years said he has pain in the upper jaw bone. After checking him there was no cause in the mouth. He was advised to show a physician for possibilities of a sinus issue. His wife came back to inform that the patient had been admitted to the hospital because of pneumonia.

Case 3

A 75-year-old male patient was referred by a chest specialist for total extraction of teeth. He was admitted for a persistent lung infection. Patient has a very smelly mouth with all teeth shaking. When all of his teeth were pulled out and his cough healed.

Case 4

A young 35yrs old male patient came for teeth cleaning as he had a bad breath which smelt like rotten fish. He had clean teeth so cleaning was not needed. He was not eating foods that would cause bad breath. Sonography was advised. His bad breath was a typical sign of fatty liver as was confirmed by sonography.

Case 5

A 39 yrs old male patient had been visiting me for the past 7 years for chronic gum infections. After performing a surgery , giving him a deworming course and all other medicines for gum infection his condition improved by 85 %  but not completely. His mother got dentures at a very early age as she had a similar gum infection but since she came at a very late stage all her teeth had to be pulled out. After discussing his diet he was advised to stop his daily milk intake of 3 glasses. As expected 10% of the infection had reduced. Very often we blame heredity as a reason for our ill health but we fail to see that we eat the same kind of food that our parents did. Some more lectins to be removed for this case for his prediabetic stage and gums to heal completely.

Case 6

A patient with colon cancer was referred for an oral examination. No cavities were seen but since teeth with cavities have P Micra, a bacteria that causes colon cancer a 3D scan was done. As expected, one of the patient's teeth had an infection in the bone. A root canal was started and the patient started to show improvement.
